About Dental Implants in Indianapolis, IN
Dental implants are a long-term, effective treatment to restore your smile when you need missing teeth replaced. MINT dentistry is excited to offer our patients custom-made dental implants and restorations to help them enjoy a replacement that functions and feels like their natural teeth. An implant is a metal post that is surgically placed in your jawbone (by a board-certified oral surgeon) to replace the lost root of your tooth. The implanted post or posts can then be attached to a crown, bridge, or denture restoration that looks natural and lasts a long time. If you want to restore your smile by replacing a missing tooth or teeth, contact MINT dentistry in Indianapolis, IN. During your appointment at our modern dental facility, you will learn more about our commitment to helping patients achieve their aesthetic goals while maintaining ideal oral wellness.
All-On-4® Dental Implants
All-on-4® by Nobel Biocare™ is a leader in dental implants because they provide fixed full-arch restorations. All-on-4 implant dentures work by placing metal posts (the dental implants) at strategic points on each arch. Compared to other types of implant-supported dentures, All-on-4 offers a better fit with as few as four posts. Our team of dentists recommends All-on-4 implant-supported dentures for patients looking for a fully restored smile without the hassle or the dietary restrictions of traditional dentures. Many MINT patients appreciate the benefits of the groundbreaking All-on-4 procedure and enjoy high-quality results. If you're interested in finding out more about All-on-4 implanted dentures, we encourage you to schedule a consultation at our dental center in Indianapolis, IN.

Am I A Candidate For Dental Implants?
If you are missing one or several teeth, our MINT dental team might recommend a bridge, crown, or dentures supported by implants as a solution to restore your smile. You may be an ideal candidate for a dental implant or All-On-4 implants if you already have a traditional restoration but are unhappy with how it looks or feels. During your dental implant consultation at our office, we will assess your jawbone and gums to decide if a dental implant will help you achieve your goal smile. You are probably not a candidate for implant dentistry if you have a periodontal condition, use tobacco, or are currently pregnant.
How Are Dental Implants Placed?
We'll determine if you need gum or bone grafts before scheduling an appointment for implant placement. If you do, you should complete those treatments before your implant procedure. Once you're approved for implants, we'll schedule oral surgery to place the post(s). To begin your implant surgery, a team member will lead you back to the procedure room and allow you to relax in a comfortable treatment chair, where we'll provide Beats headphones and MINT sunglasses. When you are ready, we'll administer your anesthesia or sedation. Then, one of our board-certified oral surgeons will make an incision in your mouth and fit the metal post(s) into your jawbone. We will repeat this process if more than one implant is needed. The gums will then be closed, leaving the top of the implant visible over the top of your gumline. Over the next several months, the implant(s) will integrate with your bone and gums. While this occurs, a temporary crown, bridge, or denture will cover the implant(s). When you're healed, our dentists will attach your custom crown, bridge, or denture to the post(s), so you can enjoy your newly restored smile.
Dental Implant Surgery Aftercare
After your surgery, it’s common to experience gum inflammation and swelling in your jaw, in addition to some bleeding, discomfort, and bruising. A certain degree of these symptoms is normal, but you should report severe or prolonged symptoms to our office. We may write you a prescription for antibiotics and/or pain medication and give you detailed aftercare instructions about activities to avoid so you can recover quickly. Once your implant(s) have integrated and your custom restoration is attached, you should follow a good home oral care routine, including flossing and brushing daily. We may ask you to schedule follow-up appointments so we can monitor your progress. MINT dentistry suggests you continue attending annual dental exams and biannual cleanings to keep your natural teeth and restorations healthy and attractive for a lifetime.
The MINT Commitment
Your dental insurance provider may cover part of your implant placement and restoration. One of our finance team members will speak to your insurance to understand your benefits and determine any out-of-pocket costs. In your initial consultation, we will discuss which payment methods we accept and give you information on medical financing. At MINT dentistry, we're dedicated to helping patients get sexy teeth. If you do not have insurance, ask us about the MINT Discount Plan, which makes it easier to afford regular dental care and restorative treatments.
